From experience to innovation: EDI at ISL-Chemie GmbH & Co. KG

The North Rhine-Westphalian paint manufacturer ISL-Chemie GmbH & Co. KG now also relies on Mercoline's EDI business partner integration. The internationally active company is present in over 40 countries worldwide and has more than 50 years of experience in the development and production of liquid dispersible systems such as color pastes, lacquers and pigment preparations for coloring and painting plastics and for coloring paints for industrial applications.

In the EDI project with Mercoline, a customer of ISL was connected. The order process from the customer to ISL was implemented. The orders (EDIFACT ORDERS) and order changes (EDIFACT ORDCHG) of the customer are to be confirmed by the system with order confirmations (EDIFACT ORDRSP). Within the process it is checked if the order changes can be made at all.

For this test there is a monitor integrated in SAP, programmed by Mercoline specifically for this purpose.

The requirement for the check monitor was that changes to sales orders should not be automatically imported into SAP. Deviations could affect quantity, price and/or requested delivery date. These changes are now compared via the monitor with the current sales order in the exact position. In this way, the user can easily decide whether to accept or reject the changes in the SAP system. This prevents any unwanted subsequent processes (production, delivery, billing) from being set in motion. For revision purposes, all data is stored in a Z-table and the changes are logged.

With Mercoline's check monitor, we save time and avoid errors and media breaks. In addition, the EDI service, which is handled entirely by Mercoline, allows us to concentrate fully on our core business.
