SAP Cloud: ready & on point
SAP extends ERP maintenance: What does this mean for your S/4HANA strategy?
Cloud, AI, services and BTP at SAP - what does this mean for SAP user companies? What developments are on the horizon and what course should be set today for future decisions?
In this blog series, we present the most important questions surrounding SAP's cloud strategy and the S/4HANA Cloud Editions and accompany you on this exciting journey.
What's changing?
Previously, the end of maintenance for SAP ERP was set for 2027, with paid extended maintenance until 2030. Now, companies that opt for RISE with SAP have the option to continue maintenance until 2033. RISE with SAP is a subscription-based package that supports companies in their transition to S/4HANA, combining software, infrastructure and services. SAP continues to rely on the Public Cloud Edition of S/4HANA to offer companies a future-proof, scalable solution.
How does this affect the cloud transformation?
For companies that have not yet developed a clear S/4 strategy, this decision provides additional room for manoeuvre. SAP is focussing on the Public Cloud Edition, as it enables SAP to make innovations and updates as well as AI services available to users more quickly.
