Truma modernizes export processes through digitalization and automation
Truma, the leading manufacturer of heating and air conditioning systems for recreational vehicles, has used the introduction of ATLAS AES 3.0 to modernise its export processes. With the new features of AES 3.0, companies like Truma can now benefit from a simplified and more transparent export process that facilitates the handling of international shipments.
The aim was to increase the effectiveness and compliance of export processes and ensure smooth integration into existing system landscapes. At the same time, it was important to improve customer satisfaction through optimised and automated processes.
In the course of switching to a digital business process, Truma realised that the traditional, paper-based and manual process of confirming receipt was disproportionately labour-intensive. In particular, maintaining and managing these confirmations proved to be time-consuming and prone to inconsistencies. With this in mind, Truma made the strategic decision to push ahead with the extensive digitalisation and automation of foreign trade processes.
The standardisation of processes is a crucial step in ensuring compliance with legal regulations and increasing efficiency in companies. Automation solutions can help to optimise workflows, free employees from routine tasks and gain better control over company activities.

Mercoline GmbH implemented two customised SAP add-ons at Truma
M.ATLAS for export processing:
This module enables fully integrated and optimised export processing. As part of the changeover to AES 3.0, the company switched to Mercoline. The existing export processes were thoroughly analysed and the tool was adapted to the specific needs of Truma. Existing processes were scrutinised and optimised in order to achieve maximum efficiency. By identifying export-relevant invoices, complete export processes can now be processed at the touch of a button without any further adjustments.
M.SecureTrade Entry Certificate:
Mercoline's M.SecureTrade Entry Certificate is an innovative SAP-integrated solution that enables companies to provide proof of delivery of goods to other EU countries efficiently and in compliance with the law. This solution automates the sending and receiving of entry certificates and their alternative proofs.
The automation of entry certificates and the integration of dunning systems not only reduces manual effort, but also optimises communication between customers and specialist departments. This leads to considerable time savings and increased customer satisfaction.
‘The successful introduction of digital confirmation of arrival is my greatest personal success in 30 years of Truma’
Truma has taken measures to ensure complete and legally compliant documentation, which is crucial for companies, especially with regard to foreign trade audits.
The automated processes led to a reduction in administrative work. The introduction of a web portal for entry confirmation and the simple processing for customers represents a significant simplification for both sides. The rapid realisation of this project from the initial phase to go-live in less than two months is an impressive testament to the efficient and dedicated collaboration of the teams.
‘The implementation of Mercoline's foreign trade solutions not only simplifies processes, but also strengthens customer relationships through efficient and transparent workflows. The intensive and extremely effective collaboration, which led to inspiring results, is a clear sign of a well-coordinated team. ‘ - says the project team at Truma.
